Breast Cancer Awareness: Shula Fund and The Moffitt Center
One in 8 women will develop breast cancer, and each year, 246,660 new cases of invasive breast cancer are diagnosed in the United States alone. The goal of the Shula Fund is to provide personalized care and treatment options through the Moffitt Cancer Center, in order to give courage to those who are facing their own cancer battle.
The Don Shula Foundation was established over 20 years ago. In 2014, Don and Mary Anne Shula donated the Shula Foundations Funds of $1.5 million to establish the Shula Fund with the purpose of providing support to the Moffitt Cancer Center, Florida’s top cancer hospital. “Cancer has touched our family personally, and I know that the more we give to cancer research, the closer we are to finding a cure,” said Coach Shula.
Donations raised through the Shula Fund go directly toward care for breast cancer patients and research projects that support better patient outcomes and the newest treatments available to those battling cancer.
