Shula’s Steak Houses, LLLP
Mrs. Shula currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Shula’s Steak Houses, LLLP. She has also served on the Board of Directors of Northern Trust Bank and Indian Creek Country Club, and currently serves on the Board of the University of the Ozarks, of which she is a lifetime board member.
Mrs. Shula grew up in Arkansas and attended the University of the Ozarks where she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities for her fundraising efforts to establish a school of higher education for children with learning disabilities. She served on the International Advisory Board of the University of Arkansas Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences. Mrs. Shula was State Chairman of the USO and was a founding member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts located in Washington, DC. In 1990 she was named Arkansas citizen of the year by then Governor Bill Clinton.
Mary Anne and Don Shula founded The Shula Fund to support cutting-edge research projects that will generate new treatment and prevention strategies for breast cancer patients in Florida and beyond. The Fund began with a $1.5 million donation from The Don Shula Breast Cancer Foundation. In addition to The Shula Fund, Mrs. Shula is involved in numerous charitable and civic organizations throughout Arkansas and Florida.
Mrs. Shula has three grown children and – upon marrying Don Shula in October of 1993 – the family grew to include a total of eight children, 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
